New Leather Handbag
As the retail line is getting ready to go into production, I wanted to share this new design as a tease....:)
Beautiful quilted lamb leather with black patent leather straps and accent. So soft, so luxurious.

Don't Call Me A Quilter
Yes, I do quilt, I learned many years ago watching Eleanor Burns, Nancy Zieman, Kaye Wood, and many others. But it is not my passion. My passion is bags, garment sewing, and home dec.
However, recently I needed a new bed spread for the guest room.
So I made this quilt. And yes, I pieced, and quilted it all. So am I a topper and a quilter? Call me an FCA ( fiber construction artist) please.
Now instead of using traditional cotton bias binding, I decided to be different. So I used webbing along the edges. I also made curved edges instead of the squared out corners.
Though I enjoy the finished results
with using all those specialty threads, beautiful batiks, and trims, etc. It took much more of my time than I would have wanted it to.
If I ever do it again,,, (how do people say it when they talk about not wanting to make clothes???..
Oh yes, it's cheaper to buy them than to make them), I'll choose a much more simple pattern. But then again, it wouldn't be a challenge if it was simple now would it?
What ever your passion is, enjoy doing it. If it brings you peace, tranquility and a sense of accomplishment, that is what creativity and the arts are all about.
The more you do, the better you get, and the greater your personal reward of achievements become. It is all something to be proud of. Some dream and talk about doing, while others actually do it. What motivates and inspires you?
